Benjamin Smith, a former teacher at Escalante Middle School in Durango, Colorado, pleaded guilty in federal court to production of child pornography, coercion and enticement of minors, and attempted coercion and enticement of minors. According to prosecutors, several of the victims had previously had Smith as a teacher at the school. He was sentenced to 40 years in federal prison and a lifetime of supervision.
