Catherine (Cathy) Heminghaus, a teacher at Ferguson Middle School, was found guilty by a jury in 2008 of two counts of first-degree statutory sodomy, two counts of sexual contact with a student, and two counts of supplying intoxicating liquor to a minor. She was sentenced on September 3, 2008, to six years in prison and fined $1,000. The Missouri Court of Appeals affirmed the judgment.
